How long is the commute from Santa Cruz to San Jose?

I have lived in San Jose my whole life, but have always wanted to live in Santa Cruz. I work as an engineer in the San Jose area, so I am wondering about how long it will take to drive over the hill to san jose if I was to leave around 630 or 7am?? Thanks!!

Do I take the northbound or southbound Highway 17 Express to Santa Cruz from Downtown San Jose?
