I have lived in San Jose my whole life, but have always wanted to live in Santa Cruz. I work as an engineer in the San Jose area, so I am wondering about how long it will take to drive over the hill to san jose if I was to leave around 630 or 7am?? Thanks!!

you are driving in commute traffic, so it will vary - I would think about 45 minutes, but keep in mind that if there is snow or ice, or a jacknifed bigrig (every week) on Hwy 17, you’re toast.

45 minutes on average depending on what area of San Jose you are going to. If there is rain or an accident, count on a lot longer.
